Project proposal and fundraising appeal
"We have an acute need for a Tibetan medical facility in Chitoe area of Nangchen, Tibet, where the Tibetan people of eleven nomadic areas have no access to any form of medical facilities.A great number of Tibetans living in the other areas travel to Lho Lungkar Gon Monastery also. So, in order to be as much socially engaged as possible, four years ago I started a rudimentary Tibetan medical clinic. Thus far three monks from Lho Lung Kar Gon Monastery have finished their medical training and will shortly be ready to go out and practice. However, the available facility is completely overwhelmed by the increasing medical needs of the people, and therefore the need for the exapnsion of the currently existing basic facility is urgent and real. For the purpose of reaching out to as many Tibetan communities as possible, this center will train physicians on an ongoing basis. Once graduated, the students will be sent out to various nomadic locations to cater to the needs of those who are out of the physical range of the medical center, and where possible, start branch centers/dispensaries." -His Eminence Tenzin Nyima Rinpoche.
